Disturbing By Karen Lippeatt The subject matter is so appalling and the author does more than just make you shake your head at the evilness of child molestation and victimization of everyone it touches. She makes you feel t h e pain and the emptiness of the victim. She makes you see how a small voice can be silenced for years to come. She enlightens us to how cunning the perpetrator c an be to keep the victims silenced and helpless in t h e midst of adults who should be their protectors. But, she leaves you with hope of breaking the silence. I am left feeling both bereft and hopeful. Bereft over the loss of innocence and truth and voice. Hopeful for the return of the lost voice and breaking of silence.
