About the Author Jeanie Davis, wife, mother of four daughters and avid reader, has dabbled in writing throughout her life. She’s written several songs (lyrics and music) as well as poems — several of which have been published. She studied Communications at Brigham Young University and Interior Decorating at Mesa Community College. Now that her daughters are grown, she has decided to fill her empty nest with her own words and has discovered a love for writing stories, fiction and non. While battling Multiple Sclerosis for half of her life, she is happy knowing she can contribute to her corner of the world in some small way — even on the bad days. She is grateful for all the support and encouragement she receives from her family and friends. Jeanie and her husband, Rick, live in Gilbert, Arizona, where, if she isn’t busy spoiling her grandchildren, you will find her nose in a good book, or at her computer writing one of her own.

Once i started reading the characters became a constant thought as this book is filled with sweetness, laughter By Becky Carns I am not a book reader, i go watch movies...with that being said i ordered this book and because i am not a book reader, even though i was excited to read it, it took me two days to sit down and start reading this book. Once i started reading the characters became a constant thought as this book is filled with sweetness, laughter, hardship, sadness, but most of all, love. It took me back in time and gave me an appreciation of what our ancestors went through. Thank you Jeanie Davis for sharing your talent. I can't wait to sit and read it again. BC

Their story is shared very eloquently in this book! I love this story, and I know I am a better person for reading it! I really am not much of a reader but I would read this book over and over again! It's a quick read and well worth your while! Read it for the romance, read it to gain courage, love, hope, and faith, for the history, read it for pure entertainment! It really is a beautiful, beautiful story.

As I read it to my wife I found myself wanting to be a better husband and person. What a gift to this incredible family and the world. Thank you for sharing such touching and beautiful stories with those of us not in your family.It was fun to see the technology changes that occurred during Carrie's lifetime.It also made me think of my grandparents and great-grandparents and the kind of lives they must have lead.
