The Tale of Mr. Tod is a children's book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter, first published by Frederick Warne & Co. in 1912. The tale is about a badger called Tommy Brock and his arch enemy Mr. Tod, a fox. Brock kidnaps the children of Benjamin Bunny and his wife Flopsy, intending to eat them, and hides them in an oven in the home of Mr. Tod. Benjamin and his cousin Peter Rabbit have followed Tommy Brock in an attempt to rescue the babies. When Mr. Tod finds Brock asleep in his bed, he determines to get him out of the house. His initial attempt fails, and the two eventually come to blows. Under cover of the fight, the rabbits rescue the baby rabbits. The tale was influenced by the Uncle Remus stories, and was set in the fields of Potter's Castle Farm. Black and white illustrations outnumber those in colour. The tale is critically considered one of Potter's "most complex and successful in plot and tone."

About the Author Born into a wealthy Unitarian family, Potter, along with her younger brother Walter Bertram (1872–1918), grew up with few friends outside her large extended family. Her parents were artistic, interested in nature and enjoyed the countryside. As children, Beatrix and Bertram had numerous small animals as pets which they observed closely and drew endlessly. Summer holidays were spent away from London, in Scotland and in the English Lake District where Beatrix developed a love of the natural world which was the subject of her painting from an early age.

A Gem in the Peter Rabbit Collection By Darien Summers The famous Peter and Benjamin Bunny return (all grown up) in this slightly more advanced children's tale in this series. This book is by far the longest and most detailed of the books in the series. It also revolves around two not so great role models: Mr. Tod and Tommy Brock. I don't want to ruin the story, but basically the two end up doing each other in (nothing excessive), and Benjamin and Peter end up getting caught in the middle of it when once again (see the Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies), Benjamin's bunnies end up going missing. This story is very fun to read aloud to children, and is also a good, slightly advanced book to challenge young readers. As with all the books I've read in this well written series, I highly reccomend. Enjoy!Darien Summers, author of the Mischievous Hare, a children's book. The Mischievous Hare

There is no copyright page and the cover picture is fuzzy and grainy as if it was copied from an enlarged picture on a computer, then scanned it. I don't know how this "booklet" is not a copyright infringement.
