About the Author
Dr. Lawrence has written three previous books: The Original Christmas Gift (2001); The Contentment You Long For (2009); and Homesick for Heaven (2014).
He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, the Episcopal Theological School, and Luther Theological Seminary. He has served four congregations in four states over four decades. He and his wife Dawn live in retirement in the Woodlands, north of Houston, Texas.

The author examines 10 of the paradoxes Jesus uses to teach us what it truly means to be a Christian. Dr. Lawrence always uses multiple Scripture references to illuminate his teachings, which I really enjoy. We need more books like this excellent one to challenge us to become truly more like Christ.
