Comedy, jealousy and intrigue take center stage as a small town prepares for an ACLU lawsuit over a sign that reads FAITH, Hometown of Jesus Christ. A lightning-fast read, the turn of the last page will have you wishing your stay in Faith could have lasted just a few more days, or at least that you had picked up a Jesus-in-the-Box or a poster of the town's super-hot mechanic Johnny Cain. The town of Faith has found religion, and no one is happier than Father O'Brien who last week was down to only one parishioner. The lines to the confessional are now out the church doors, and the oatmeal cookie crosses are selling like hotcakes. At the Fourth of July Parade the mayor's son survived the mock crucifixion with only a broken arm and mild head trauma. Everyone, hands in the air. Give it up for Faith, hometown of Jesus Christ. There's a cross burning on a motel lawn, and everyone is sleeping around. Someone's plotting the town's first murder and the mill's been robbed of an ungodly sum. Yes, the town of Faith has got problems, but no one is sadder than Bobby Ray whose ex-girlfriend has returned. Everyone, let us pray.

The story stars Samantha and Bobby, bound together by a love that exceeds what words could never possibly describe. For Bobby, moments only exist when she's near --- to him, everything else is just a highlight reel. He knew she was leaving the moment she showed up, yet he was incapable of accepting what never was and what could never be. Life was on hold when she was around, and Linda was simply a placeholder. She provided the background to a life truly never lived.Small town Faith is hilariously ironic, with confessions given in both a church pew and a bar stool. A Great Dane quenches his thirst with holy water, and the towns heartbreaker mechanic is the only one with a conscience. The citizens of Faith would rather push a car home than be associated with a man of worldly traits! The ACLU attempts to reason with the small town with the tools of the trade; a big shot lawyer and a Mercedes Benz. Town hall meetings will make you laugh out loud, and parades will never be the same!Bobby was shackled to Faith by the memory of his father --- and he may finally be ready to leave the small town life in his rear view mirror. He just needs to pack a few things and tie up a few loose ends...To the author --- thank you for a great journey.

By Amazon Customer This book was recommended to me by a friend who thought I would like it, and she was right! I smiled through the whole thing. This is a light and very fun read. Loved the plotline: Small town boy, stuck in a rut, gets visited by his old flame. They've got a lot of chemistry. Meanwhile, there's controversy over the name of the town and separation of church and state. The ACLU gets involved. Crimes are committed. There's always something happening and it's always fun to read about. The characters are small town funny. If you're looking for something very entertaining and engaging, buy this book for the summer. Perfect for reading at the beach, the pool, or on vacation. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Thank you, Virginia Austin! I'm still smiling.

It is a tongue-in-cheek look at life in a small town and all its quirky characters. The author irreverently but lovingly deconstructs the psyche of a town that is hell-bent on saving its name. In the middle of it all, say "hello" to jealousy, larceny, hypocracy, and a main character who, on a spiritual journey to save his own soul, must face the possibility of having to let go of the two things he loves most in the world: the girl of his dreams and the memory of his beloved father. Whatever direction you're headed in life, stop and visit FAITH.
