About the Author Peter Anderson won an Academy of American Poets award while earning an M.A. in American Studies at the University of Wyoming. He also earned an MDiv at Earlham School of Religion, a Quaker seminary, where he subsequently taught writing for several years. Peter teaches in the English department at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado and lives with his family on the western slope of the Sangre de Cristo Range in Colorado’s San Luis Valley.

Anderson details the beauty of the natural places that he knows and balances this with poignant stories about his daughter's view and reflections on the world. Anderson blends these human interactions with his revelations about the natural churches and spiritual environments that he encounters. He presents a view from the heart that allows the reader the opportunity to experience his "holy" places.

Spiritual Exploration By Katherine Sartori, Author of THE CHOSEN SHELL I read this book four years ago, and now I've put it on my nightstand again, to take a sip of wisdom each night from author Peter Anderson. His is the kind of spirituality that is most appealing to me, because it doesn't involve "religion" or "church-going." Instead, Anderston honestly shares his soul journey with readers. He is determined to find his own unique conversation with God, among both the majesty and loneliness of the nature he loves. His adventures with mountain climbers, priests and the animals roaming among the trees, plus his philosophical insights, give anyone who is a searcher of truth plenty of nourishment.

Fleck Peter Anderson's book is indeed a philosophical and spiritual quest from the higher elevations of Colorado and Utah. His chapter on the Henry Mountains of southern Utah is a classic in that it is an honest, forthright quest for listening and listening for the presence of the Creator but this quest is interrupted by fear, distraction and sometimes loneliness. Yet, despite these naturally occurring elements, the earnest quest cannot be denied because it is deeply human.
